2021-5 New!
We showed effective systemic oxygenation by intra-colonic injection of oxygenated PFC to apply hypoxia pigs (Doi: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.medj.2021.04.004 ).
2021-2
We have developed the world's first self-intestinal epithelium regenerative therapy which enables the large intestine to perform as the small intestine, recovering the function of the small intestine at the same time. Administering conventional immunosuppressant to patients who underwent the small intestine transplant therapy is subject to the incidence of acute graft rejection. As an alternative therapy for such immunosuppressants, we have developed the self-intestinal epithelium regenerative therapy and have reported its efficacy in the journal Nature (doi: 10.1038/s41586-021-03247-2). By using preclinical pig models, we are researching to further refine this technology with specialists around the world, and hope to offer an option for this therapy to suffering patients in the near future.
2021-2
We have developed a new 8K-UHD digital microscope system with digital zooming to enable maximum 300X magnification of the surgical field. This system has specific lighting settings for shadows dropped in surgical field to expand the three-dimensional effect while still being a monocular camera. The original mechanism and design was shown in the journal of Heliyon.

In collaboration with Sunarrow Limited We have developed the PVA tube “Lymph” for lymphatic anastomosis practices in supermicrosurgery. “Lymph” was produced by mixing several PVA and then adjusting the temperature and time of frozen cross-linking agent in order to make its texture similar to a lymph vessel of a living body: Kobayashi E, Yamashita S. A training tool for lymphatic vessel anastomosis in supermicrosurgery: An ultrafine polyvinyl alcohol tube. Microsurgery. 2020 Jul 9. doi: 10.1002/micr.30625. Online ahead of print.
